Ideas for Your Own Royal Wedding Themed Party

Crate a Party

It’s finally time for the wedding of the year! On May 19th Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be married, and I for one am so excited! Got to love a wedding. I love any reason to throw up some bunting and have a jolly good party, so this really is the perfect excuse. If you’re anything like me, and have got total wedding fever, why not throw your own party to celebrate the nuptials? I’ll share some ideas I’ve had, for things that will set your party apart, and make even the guests at the Royal wedding jealous.

Brunch anyone?

The wedding is on slightly earlier than Will and Kate’s, so it’s the perfect excuse to have a brunch themed do. Rustle up some pancake stacks, English Muffins, poached eggs and a gallon of Orange Juice, and you’re good to go for the entirety of the ceremony. Overeating recommended.

Pimms O’Clock

Pimms are a must for any Royal Wedding themed do. The epitome of British Summertime, this fruity beverage will have everyone singing God Save the Queen. Best enjoyed with some refreshing mint, and lots of ice- I’ll be sharing a recipe for this on here soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Royal Wedding Themed Games

Everyone loves a game. Well, they will after you're done with them. Royal wedding themed Quizzes, and drinking games are ideal for indoor more grown-up heavy parties (drink every time you see a ridiculous hat, or someone mentions Meghan’s dress). But if it’s a nice day, and you’re an athletic bunch, why not take the games outside and play a round of croquet? Or better yet, Rounders! Bound to bring even the most reluctant of Royalists around.

Royal Wedding Fancy Dress

Themed parties always bring out people’s creativity so ask your friends to come dressed as their favourite Royal Wedding guest and give a prize for the best costume. The bigger the hat, the better!

Great British Grub

If you want to keep it as patriotic as possible, make sure you are supplying all of the foods that make our country great. Scones, Crumpets, heck even a Yorkshire pudding. You can’t go far wrong with some classic British food. Wash it down with a glass of Pimms and you’re good to go.

I hope you found these little tips helpful if you are thinking of throwing your own Royal Wedding Party. How will you be spending May 19th? Leave a comment below!
